The Maverick Reformer is the newly introduced big brother to the Fixer card from the original Political Machine series. As one of two universal cards that can remove anything on the map, it will be one of the crucial centerpieces in stopping oppressive play, and helping salvage your map.
For something that removes just one card at a cheaper cost, look towards the other universal deck card, the Fixer. For the Evangelical Conservative return-to-hand form of the Maverick Reformer, see the Faith Educator.
Strategy
Unlike the Fixer, this card will deal with stacked and targeted effects, should you encounter any problems along the way.
This is in every single deck alongside Fixers, however you may only get a handful of these operatives, meaning you will need to use them wisely and make their efforts count. Your opponent may be more keen to push the advantage if they know you do not have any Fixers or Maverick Reformers.
Typically, you will encounter many opportunities to use the Maverick Reformer when you see opponents making tall plays to take states such as Texas, Florida, or hard to contest states such as Pennsylvania. You can disrupt your opponent's economic cards by plopping a Maverick Reformer into California if you see your opponents catching up to you in monetary power.
